Manchester United vs Swansea City :
Manchester United face Swansea for the second time in two weeks after losing to them 2-1 in the FA Cup tie. The Premier League returns after a 10 day hiatus and David Moyes’ side will hope to improve their home record this season. In the last six games in the Premier League, United have lost two home games, one against Newcastle United and the other against Tottenham Hotspurs.
Swansea on the other hand, has not won a single game out of the last six premier league fixtures. They have drawn three and lost three. In the last six away games, Swansea has only managed to win against Fulham with a final result of 1-2.
The FA Cup win for Swansea is a confident boost and gives them assurances of a possibility to repeat the same performance at Old Trafford. However, Moyes, who is already under a lot of pressure this season will make sure Swansea fails to secure a second consecutive win against them.
Despite being seventh in the league, 11 points behind Arsenal, Moyes remains adamant over the fact that his side can still recover. With half the season gone, time is running out for the Scot to prove he has been right to remain confident all along.
United will have to face Swansea without Jonny Evans and Phil Jones. There’s a possibility of Wayne Rooney’s return, but Van Persie is still on the sidelines. Nani and Fellaini will also be absent from the line-up.
Swansea’s injury list includes Pablo Hernandez (hamstring), Michu (ankle), Michel Vorm (knee) and Roland Lamah (abductor).
The referee for the match will be Chris Foy with assistants P Kirkup and J Flynn. R Madley will be the fourth official for the match.
