Manchester United and Arsenal are reportedly lining up a deal for Hertha Berlin defensive midfielder Arne Maier.
Maier has been a regular for Bundesliga side Hertha and has played 90 minutes in all three of their top-flight matches this campaign so far, establishing himself as a key part of a team which has made an unbeaten start to the season.
The 19-year-old form has attracted interest from across Europe, and Bild reports that Premier League giants United and Arsenal are among the interested parties.
Both clubs are understood to have sent scouts to watch the Germany Under-21 international and are considering an approach for the youngster.
Maier only signed a new contract with Hertha in February, though, putting pen to paper on a four-year deal which keeps him at the club until 2022.
He stands at an impressive 6ft tall and is a German U21 international, having represented his country at various youth levels.
