Chelsea have been reportedly linked with a move for Mauro Icardi or Patrick Cutrone as Maurizio Sarri looks for a lethal striker who can replace Alvaro Morata in January, according to the Sun
Morata had a stunning start under Antonio Conte last season, scoring eight goals in his opening nine matches, but the Spaniard’s form quickly dried up and new Chelsea manager Sarri has already lost patience.
Icardi is Sarri’s top priority and Chelsea is ready to meet-up the £90million valuation fee.
Cutrone, meanwhile, who had a breakthrough season at AC Milan last season, is available for around £25million.
The Italy international is regarded as one of the most promising attacking talents in Serie A after 18 goals in all competitions last term.
Morata has not been the same since his switch to Stamford Bridge from Real Madrid last two seasons.
The Argentine forward has scored five goals in eight games this season.
Real Madrid is also considering bringing the former Barcelona back to Spain while Cutrone is on the radar of Tottenham Hotspur.
It is suggested that Chelsea can no longer rely on misfiring Morata for goals and wants another goal scorer to shake up things at the Stamford Bridge.
