Chelsea next visit is against Newcastle United in St James Park and the Blues are hoping to continue their winning streak having won their first two games against Huddersfield and Arsenal respectively

During Friday’s press conference Chelsea new manager Maurizio Sarri hinted Eden Hazard and Mateo Kovacic will start on the bench against Newcastle United on Sunday afternoon.

Both players have had very little time to build up their match fitness due to their respective countries going into the final weekend of this summer’s World Cup.

“I don’t know. I think Eden is ready for 50-60 minutes but I don’t know about 90 minutes. He can start,” Sarri told reporters at his pre-match press conference.

“I think Mateo and Eden played very well the last 30 minutes. I think at that moment the intensity of the match was going down.

“I think like Eden, he’s only ready to play for 60-65 minutes.”
