Chelsea could lock horns with Inter Milan and Juventus in the signing of Italy talent Sandro Tonali.
Reports claim Maurizio Sarri wants Tonali, who earned a call-up to Roberto Mancini’s senior Italy squad for their fixtures against Portugal and the United States.
The 18-year-old, who currently plies his trade in Serie B with Brescia, has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge as well as Serie A duo Juventus and AC Milan.
But the Chelsea boss could be beaten, according to Italian website Calciomercato.
Former Juventus CEO Giuseppe Marotta is close to joining Inter Milan, and shares a good relationship with one of Tonali’s representatives.
It’s said Marotta will try to orchestrate a £22.5million deal in January and allow the 18-year-old to stay and help Serie B outfit Brescia push for promotion.
Reports last month claimed that Maurizio Sarri is hoping to swoop in and secure a deal for the midfielder, with the Blues understood to be ready to pay £20m for the prospect who has been compared to Italy World Cup winner Andrea Pirlo.
However, it would appear that Brescia owner Massimo Cellino would prefer to sell the midfielder to another Italian club rather than do any business with the Premier League outfit.
