Liverpool transfer target Nabil Fekir is reportedly expecting to leave Lyon next summer with Chelsea and Liverpool reportedly linked with a move for the French winger, according to El Gol Digital.
Sport witness claims Blues manager, Maurizio Sarri has ‘personally called’ the 25-year-old to explain the project at Stamford Bridge.
The former Napoli coach has also assured the Ligue 1 star that he will be an ‘undisputed holder’ in his side, if he decides to swap Lyon for the Premier League outfit.
The Frenchman caught the eyes of clubs from all over the continent in the 2017-18 season, and Liverpool were on the brink of signing him in a £50+ million deal in the summer.
However, concerns regarding the World Cup winner’s knees meant that Liverpool pulled out of the negotiations at the eleventh hour, despite having interviewed Fekir for the club website and photographed him in a home shirt.
He has struggled to hit the heights of last season, when he scored 18 times in Ligue 1 and laid on eight assists.
According to L’Equipe, Fekir is hoping to finally secure his big-money move away from Lyon next summer and will be using the Champions League to try and impress.
As things stand, there are only two European teams currently monitoring him: Chelsea and Bayern Munich.
