Shkodran Mustafi is ready to move back to the Serie A, as Juventus and Inter Milan scramble for his signature.
The defender was the subject of a loan bid from Inter two weeks ago but it was swiftly rejected by Arsenal who wants to do a permanent deal.
Reports claim, Mustafi has failed to bond with his team at Arsenal and Wenger is willing to sell him despite joining the club just last August.
Inter are currently leading the race to sign the defender but Juventus aren’t far behind as they continue to monitor the German as a replacement for Leonardo Bonucci.
According to the Mirror Inter Milan and Arsenal remain locked in negotiations for Mustafi but Juventus are keeping tabs on development
The report claims Wenger wants a fee in excess of £20m for Mustafi, which differs from initial reports that claimed the manager would only sanction a bid for around £35m.
Mustafi’s exit will leave Arsenal light at the back, especially after the club sold Gabriel to Valencia just a fortnight ago.
However, Wenger believes Laurent Koscielny, Per Mertesacker, Rob Holding and Calum Chambers are enough to go through the whole of the campaign and will not sanction a move for another defender even if Mustafi leaves the club this summer.
Mustafi spent part of his early career at Everton and struggled to cope with the demands of the Premier League, before moving to the Serie A to join Sampdoria. It appears to be happening again for the Germany international who is now likely to return to the Serie A after struggling to adapt to the EPL for the second time in his career.
