Chelsea have officially announced a loan deal for Michy Batshuayi to Spanish side Valencia.
The 24-year-old Belgium international spent part of last season on loan at German club Borussia Dortmund, where he found the back of the net nine times in 14 appearances.
Batshuayi was deemed surplus to requirement under new Chelsea coach Maurizio Sarri with Alvaro Morata, Olivier Giroud and Tammy Abraham all available.
“Chelsea Football Club has today agreed terms with Valencia for Michy Batshuayi to join the Spanish side on a season-long loan,” a statement on the Chelsea website said.
Valencia lodged a €3 million bid to sign Michy Batshuayi on loan from Chelsea.
Several clubs have been linked with a move for Batshuayi, including Sevilla, but Valencia have won the race to sign the player.
It is being reported that Valencia will not have an option to buy the player permanently at the end of the deal.
