Chelsea will kick-start the Premier League season on Saturday against Huddersfield off the back of a summer of change which kicked off with Maurizio Sarri’s appointment.
Chelsea have since welcomed Jorginho, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Mateo Kovacic and Rob Green to Stamford Bridge in a bid to bolster their squad.
Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson, who says the Blues will be eager to make an impression on new manager Sarri.
Former Arsenal and England ace Merson has suggested there are issues still going on behind-the-scenes at Chelsea.
But he’s backing Sarri’s men to dispatch David Wagner’s Huddersfield at the John Smith’s Stadium.
“Huddersfield have got to start well,” Merson told Sky Sports.
“David Wagner performed miracles keeping them up last season and they were helped by a good start.
“This is a really tough game for them.
“Chelsea have their problems but I just feel they’ll have too much for Huddersfield.
“They went there last season and were a class above, and they’ll want to impress their new manager.”
Merson believes Chelsea will run out 2-0 winners against Huddersfield.
