Arsenal have officially announced they have rewarded Bukayo Saka and Arthur Okonkwo with a contract extension.
The two players have Nigerian parents but were born and brought up in England and have represented the country of their birth at various youth levels.
Saka is a forward who can operate in the wide areas while Okonkwo is a goalkeeper and the two youngsters have been tied down with their first professional contracts.
Saka, 17, was a key part of Arsenal’s Under-18s squad that reached the Youth Cup final last season and the England U18s international also made three appearances for the U23s.
Okonkwo, meanwhile, was also a key part of last season’s U18s team and the 6ft 5in goalkeeper has gone to play games at U21s and U23s level for the Gunners.
They both took part as Arsenal’s U-18 team lost to their counterparts from Chelsea in the FA Youth Cup.
Academy Manager, Per Mertesacker said, “Bukayo and Arthur are talented players, who have both excelled through our Hale End Academy.
“We are delighted that they have signed their first professional contracts with us and we look forward to supporting them further through their development.“
