A Celtic fan posted on Twitter that the player was on his way to London and this had drawn the attention of many Arsenal fans who have started welcoming the defender to the Emirates stadium.

However, it was later revealed that Tierney went to meet a specialist concerning his hip surgery. It is understood that Arsenal have been in negotiations with Celtic for the defender.

The Scottish side had earlier rejected two bids for the player believed to be around £15million and £18million respectively.

Tierney is believed to be the best left back in the Scottish league and second behind Andy Robertson for the national team. Emery views the player as the perfect fit or the troublesome left back position.

Sead Kolasinac and Nacho Monreal have failed to impress Emery in his first season at the club, but signing Tierney would offer depth and competition in the left back position.

Arsenal have made a new bid of around £22 million which they believes would be enough to finalize the transfer and here’s how the 22-year-old would look in Arsenal colours.

Arsenal fans would be hoping that the club completes the transfer quickly as rumours of Napoli lurking around could start a bidding war for the defender.
