Real Madrid could join the race to sign Alexis Sanchez, according to reports in Spain.
Sanchez is in the final year of his contract and apparently doesn’t want to extend his stay here.
Should the situation not change before January, he will be fee to enter into contact talks with suitors and then sign a pre-contract agreement.
Manchester City were the most interested in the forward in the summer but Arsenal refused to sell the striker.
Despite the failed approach in the summer, City remain interested in the Chilean but could now face serious competition for his signature.
Spanish publication Don Balon via the Daily Star are now claiming Real Madrid could join City in the race to sign Sanchez next summer.
The Spanish giants are short of options in attack after allowing Alvaro Morata join Chelsea and Fiorentino Perez as earmarked Sanchez as the main target to fill the void left by the Spaniard.
The report claims Sanchez wants to return to La Liga with Real and joining the Spaniards will be a dream move for him.
Sanchez has always spoken of his desire to win titles and joining a top club like Madrid will definitely appeal to the 28 year old. It remains to be seen if the Spaniards will make an approach in January or wait until the end of the season to sign the striker for free.
