Manchester United legend Paul Scholes is unimpressed by former Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez’s situation at the club, according to GivemeSport.
The Chilean moved to United just 10 months ago after a long controversial contract and transfer saga ended in a swap deal with Henrikh Mkhitaryan moving to the Emirates.
The Gunners will be the happier of the two parties, because while Mhkitaryan has gone on to impress at the club, Sanchez has done the exact opposite with just 2 goals in 17 Premier league appearances for United.
For a player who earns the highest salary package in the league the fans are now disgruntled. He has fallen out of favour with Mourinho according to reports and has been kept on the bench for a number of games already this season.
Scholes does seem to know what the problem is and hopes he returns to form as soon as possible. “It’s really tough,” he said on BBC 5Live. “We all know the qualities he’s got, he’s shown them at Arsenal, he’s shown them at Barcelona.
“It just hasn’t happened for him for one reason or another – why? I don’t know. I don’t know what he’s doing in training or behind the scenes. We just don’t know.
“Obviously, I thought he would bring quality to the squad. He hasn’t performed yet. Whether he’s fallen out with the manager – I don’t know. He looks like he’s trying.“
