The Gunners are ready to cash in on their prized asset as German giants Borussia Dortmund come knocking.
Laurent Koscielny has just one year left on his Arsenal contract which runs out June 2020. Having joined the Emirates Stadium outfit in 2010, the player has risen through the ranks to become captain at the North London club.
The Frenchman has suffered several injuries in recent years, and was on the sidelines for a considerable period during the 2018/19 season as the Gunners finished fifth on the English Premier League log.
The Gunners who are on a £40m summer transfer budget have been looking for options to expand that cash reasonably. With Dortmund showing interest in Koscielny, this might be the right time to sell the player.
The German club are keen on taking the player to Germany and are presently the favourites to land the experienced defender should he be tempted by a switch from the Emirates.
Although Arsenal need funds, they are not going to let go of their captain cheap. The club directors are currently demanding £10.6m for Koscielny, according to the Express via the Daily Star.
It is believed that the Gunners intend to replace the centre back with St Etienne teenage sensation William Saliba.
Arsenal are reportedly in advanced talks with the 19 year-old who could cost them around £26m.
