It has been revealed that Arsenal and Liverpool will need more than just money to land their top target Thomas Lemar as he is not among the top 30 paid players in Ligue 1.
The Monaco star man doesn’t even earn enough to be on the top ten at his club as he is still on the £88,000 a month deal he signed when he moved from Caen in 2015 but yet has shown so much loyalty to the club.
By comparison Neymar who is the league’s highest earner earns £2.71 million a month, though as expected the top nine paid players in the league play for Paris Saint Germain.
Thomas Lemar has been the subject of a lot of interests from European giants, Atletico Madrid saw a £22 million bid for him rejected in 2016, while Arsenal saw a late bid last summer believed to be worth around £89 million later rejected also. Liverpool, Barcelona and Chelsea have all also declared interest in the prized asset.
Lemar has now declined all offers from Monaco for a new deal and is determined to move after the World Cup when he’ll have just two years left on his deal.
