Arsene Wenger was not willing to let Alexis Sanchez complete his controversial move to Manchester United, according to TeamTALK.
The Chilean international moved to Old Trafford in January in a swap deal involving Henrikh Mhkitaryan at the end of a protracted contract saga.
According to reports, Wenger was never in support of the 29-year old’s departure, especially after the results of a similar move involving Robin van Persie in 2012 which brought a lot of criticism as the Dutch forward went on to play a key role in United’s title triumph that season.
However, the squad was fed up of the Chilean as his ‘Petulant’ attitude had already made his teammates feel they’d be better off without him.
The move hasn’t gone well for him so far. After a slow start to life at United which was blamed on exhaustion following almost two years of club and international football without proper rest, it was expected that he would be back refreshed with no World Cup action and a full pre-season for him.
However, he seems to have gotten even worse, with some comparing his decline to that of Fernando Torres after he completed his move to Chelsea.
He has been relegated to the bench by Mourinho, and for a player who takes home the highest pay in the Premier league, it is a really sad situation. Ramsey take note!
