Arsenal will not make a move for Chelsea midfielder Charly Musonda, according to latest reports.
Reports recently claimed Arsenal are one of the clubs keen on Musonda and are already lining up ways to sign him but the Metro has now revealed that Arsenal have dropped their intention to sign the Belgian.
According to the report, the emergence of Reiss Nelson has forced the Gunners to cool their interest in Musonda.
Arsenal chiefs are desperate to see Nelson make it at the Emirates and believe the arrival of a similar player like Musonda will block his development. Wenger doesn’t want to stall Nelson’s growth and as a result will pass the chance to sign Musonda even if it presents itself.
It wasn’t surprising that Arsenal were one of the clubs linked with Musonda, as we are one of the few clubs in the Premier League with a good history of developing youngsters.
Taking nothing away from Musonda, he is a very talented player but I have always stated we already have a number of talented youngsters like Reiss Nelson, Eddie Nketiah and Ainsley Maitland-Niles who can become great players if given first team opportunities. I didn’t see any need for us to move for the Chelsea man and it is good that the club is thinking the same way.
