Arsenal boss Unai Emery has been told to change his formation following the draw at Watford.
Arsenal were 2-0 up at Vicarage Road but let it slip after a number of defensive errors.
The match finished 2-2 with Granit Xhaka admitting the Gunners were ‘scared’ in the second half and Sokratis apologising for his error.
And former Arsenal star Paul Merson slammed the Greek defender and demanded Emery alter his tactics.
“Only Arsenal would give them [Watford] a chance to get back in the game,” Merson wrote for Sky Sports.
“The shackles came off and Watford felt like they had nothing to lose, but the manager got it horribly wrong.
“I couldn’t believe he brought Ozil off. Who else is going to open up a team bar him?
“To get Sokratis to play out from the back… the lad can’t play. He’s not David Luiz. He can pass, he’s comfortable on the ball. No way can Sokratis play the same way.
“They need to play three at the back as they’re not good enough to play a four. They let in too many goals and make too many mistakes.
“It’s like anything in life, if you keep on doing the same things, you’ll keep on getting the same results.”
Arsenal have won just two of their opening five Premier League games with the draw at Watford their second of the season.
It leaves the Gunners already seven points off leaders Liverpool, who have a 100 per cent record.
And Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno has revealed what the attitude was like following the draw with Watford.
“Everybody was angry and disappointed after this game,” said Leno.
“The manager is a very positive guy. He wants to be positive and he said we will analyse this game with time.
“Now everybody was with emotions, very mad and crazy. But that is normal after the game.
“He said ‘calm down and then on Tuesday we analyse this game and then on Thursday we have another game’.”
