Bayern Munich chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has ruled out making a move for Alexis Sanchez, who they believe has already decided his next club.
The Bravarians were interested in signing Sanchez in the summer but were prized out of the move. It was recently suggested that they will try sign him again but Rummenigge has now ruled out a future move for Sanchez, claiming the Chilean has decided his next club.
“I think Sanchez has already decided which club [to join], so I suppose that the door will be closed in January,” Rummenigge told Sky Germany, as quoted by Standard Sports.
“That’s not an issue, and he is no direct substitute for Robert Lewandowski as he is not a real centre forward.”
Rumminegge’s comment will not make Arsenal fans happy, many of us want to see him remain at the club and even though he has to leave, we don’t want to see him join a rival club. There is no pretending, if Sanchez has already chosen his next club, it is likely that he has already chosen City.
Arsene Wenger recently stated that Sanchez will not be leaving in the January transfer window, when City are hoping to make a £20m bid.
Guardiola’s men were close to signing Sanchez in the summer and still remain favorites for his signature.
