According to Sky Sports journalist Simon Johnson, Maurizio Sarri has arrived London today to finalise his move to Chelsea after the dismissal of Antonio Conte.
Once Antonio Conte’s sacking was formalized, it was only a matter of when, rather than if, before the arrival of Jorginho and Maurizio Sarri would materialise, and it seems to finally be happening.
According to Calciomercato, Sarri is in London today to sign a contract with Chelsea.
Club legend Gianfranco Zola will be appointed as his fellow countryman’s No 2 at Stamford Bridge, 15 years after leaving the club as a player.
Jorginho has also arrived in London ahead of a potential £57m move to Chelsea, Sky Sports News understands.
Chelsea and Napoli have agreed a deal which features an initial £50m fee with £7m in bonuses.
The Blues have beaten Manchester City in signing the defensive midfielder.
Jorginho has said his goodbyes at Napoli as he prepares to join the Blues in the coming days.
“I will miss Naples very much after five years spent here,” he told CalcioNapoli24.
“I remain forever bonded to this city.”
