Strongest Liverpool XI vs Everton: Klopp to make THREE changes to starting linup

No updates were given on Adam Lallana (muscle), Divock Origi (illness) and Dominic Solanke (groin) in Jurgen Klopp’s press conference on Friday afternoon, though Jordan Henderson misses out through suspension after collecting five yellow cards.

Klopp said his players picked up “a lot of knocks” in the match against Paris-Saint Germain in midweek, though the Wednesday-Sunday (rather than Saturday) turnaround should ensure he has a “nearly fully fit squad”.

The Liverpool boss has a decision to make regarding his formation, having used a 4-2-3-1 in the last two league games before switching back to a 4-3-3 for the defeat to PSG on Wednesday.

Fabinho looks like a strong candidate to line up in central midfield, with James Milner and Georginio Wijnaldum having started in midweek and at possible risk of rotation.

Naby Keita is another option in the engine room but would seem more suited in a 4-3-3, so his inclusion could hinge on Klopp’s choice of formation.

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Xherdan Shaqiri look decent bets to feature having dropped to the bench in Paris, with Shaqiri either joining Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane in a 4-2-3-1 or indeed replacing one of that trio in a three-man frontline.

Alexander-Arnold could oust Dejan Lovren, meanwhile, with Joe Gomez moving to centre-back.
