According to reports, Arsenal and Bordeaux’s officials said are in talks to sort out the future of defender Laurent Koscielny.
Despite a memorable nine-year spell At the Emirates, Koscielny has expressed his desire to leave the North London club to return to his home country before the transfer window shuts down in a few days.
The centre-back, who has played 353 games for the Gunners is eager to return to his homeland and Bordeaux has been strongly linked with an interest in the Frenchman.
Bordeaux, however seem to have stepped up their pursuit of the veteran player as French publication L’Equipe claim that the two clubs involved have been trying to pull a deal through with negotiations in England.
Long-serving Koscielny maintains that he should be allowed to depart Arsenal on a free transfer, despite a year still remaining on his contract.
The 33-year-old is in the final year of his current deal at Arsenal but is hoping to be allowed to leave the club for free this summer.
Unai Emery squad is in need of reinforcement and the Premier League giants will not hesitate to make use of an opportunity to buy more players in the market. Signing off Koscielny for a fee would afford the that chance.
