Manchester United have officially announced they have rewarded Ethan Hamilton with a long-term contract to remain at Old Trafford.
The deal was announced on the club’s website on Wednesday for the solid box-to-box midfielder.
The 19-year-old’s previous deal expired on July 1 but he has now extended his stay after returning for pre-season training at Carrington.
The Scot played a full 90 minutes for the reserves against Chelsea just 24 hours previously but was soon handed the No.48 shirt and told to board a coach to the John Smith’s Stadium.
And, with a new season on the horizon, Hamilton can’t wait to get started again.
“Manchester United has always been my club so I’m delighted to be staying and extending my journey here,” he told manutd.com . “I know it’s a cliché but I just need to really knuckle down and train hard.
”You never know who is watching any training session, so my motto is show people what you can do and try to impress the coaches and manager every day. United is renowned for giving young players a chance to play in the first team if you are good enough, no matter what your age, and that’s my dream.“
