The long-awaited return to fitness of Arsenal striker Danielle Carter will be like a new signing to the club when the FA Women’s Super League resumes, whenever that may be.

The 26-year-old Solihull-born forward has barely played a game for The Gunners in the last two years as a result of her rotten luck with Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injuries. The player is on the verge of a comeback though, news that will delight manager Joe Montemurro, her teammates and the Arsenal fans.

A recent video released by Arsenal showed Carter hard at work in the gym, the player looking like her usual sharp self once again.

Carter will bring goals to an Arsenal side who have been out-scored by London rivals Chelsea this season but more importantly, she has experience which will undoubtedly rub-off on other members of the squad. The forward joined The Gunners way back in 2009 after coming through the youth ranks at Leyton Orient and she has over a century of senior appearances under her belt at Meadow Park in more than a decade of service with the North Londoners.

The England international was set for a big season this year, however, she sustained a reoccurrence of her Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury against Bayern Munich in the Emirates Cup back in July. Carter will be hoping that she has finally seen the back of her devastating long term injury woes as she looks to stake a claim for a regular starting place for club and country.
