Arsenal transfer target Thomas Partey is “ready” to move to the Emirates, according to Spanish football expert Graham Hunter. Atletico Madrid midfielder Partey has strongly been linked with a move to Arsenal ahead of the next transfer window. The 27-year-old has a release clause of around £45million in his Atletico contract.
Arsenal are likely to be hit financially following the coronavirus pandemic.
But Hunter also believes the Gunners could get Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic at a “bargain-basement” price following his tough first season at the Bernabeu.
Jovic has been touted as a potential signing for Arsenal, with the futures of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette in doubt.
RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano has also been linked with a move to north London and Hunter says that deal would also make sense.
He told Bet365: “Mikel Arteta will want to work with youth-team players but until Per Mertesacker, who is in charge of the academy and I’ve got complete faith in to start a conveyor belt of hard, tough, well-trained, skilled footballers coming through, until that point they need to add quality.
“If I was to look around immediately I’d buy a bargain-basement Luka Jovic from Real Madrid, I’d buy Thomas Partey from Atletico and Partey is ready to come to Arsenal, and Upamecano, Dayot Upamecano from Leipzig would be a perfect reinforcement at the back.”
