Chelsea have reportedly agreed a deal to see Cesc Fabregas join Monaco this winter but are reportedly stalling due to finding a replacement for the Spaniard, The Telegraph reveals.
Several reports have claims Maurizio Sarri have identifiedNicola Barella and Leandro Paredes are potential options to come in for the former Arsenal star.
Now is it claimed deals for both have been agreed in principle.
The Telegraph report Chelsea have sorted outline deals for Cagliari’s Barella and Zenit St Petersburg man Paredes, but are yet to take the transfers forward as they plan a longer-term strategy.
Meanwhile, Michy Batshuayi will return to te Stamford Bridge after his loan deal with Spanish side Valencia will be terminated.
Valencia’s general director Mateu Alemany said discussions over Batshuayi, who has fallen out of favour at Chelsea, depend on “various other clubs”.
Alemany said: “Batshuayi’s situation is very clear. We are negotiating the player’s exit with various other clubs.
“I expect he will leave in the coming hours or days. The player knows he is leaving, we told him some weeks ago.
“We hope that, for his sake, this can be resolved as soon as possible.
“He is leaving and it’s now a matter of negotiation.”
