Unai Emery has praised Lucas Torreira as the midfielder continues to impress in his first season at Arsenal.
The former Sampdoria man joined Arsenal in the summer and has been an instant hit with fans and his team-mates.
The 22-year-old scored his first goal for Arsenal in a thrilling 4-2 win over Tottenham and then helped the Gunners collect a point at Old Trafford.
Torreira has attributed his good performances for Arsenal to the Uruguayan fighting spirit he has brought to Emirates Stadium, and the confidence he has felt from coach Unai Emery.
He has been relentless with his work rate since joining the Gunners in the summer from Sampdoria, with his tackling and pressing style.
Emery has been hugely impressed by how quickly Torreira has settled in, and hailed the Uruguayan’s fitness after a two games in the space of four days.
‘His performance is improving, each player with taking confidence, with taking responsibility also, helping each other, every player,’ Emery said. ‘Lucas Torreira has big qualities, and in his physical condition.
‘I want every player to be able to play Sunday-Wednesday-Saturday with a big performance in condition physically, and tactically and technically. Lucas Torreira, in this quality, he is very high.’
