Arsenal have lost their first two games for the 2018/2019 season under new manager Unai Emery.
Fans have been wondering if they will ever get to see Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang together in the same starting XI as Emery tries to get clarity of his new squad.
The Spaniard used Mesut Ozil and Henrikh Mkhitaryan supporting Aubameyang with Lacazette left on the bench
The French attacker was finally introduced at the second fold of the game and his introduction coincided with a good spell for the Gunners, although they still couldn’t find a way back into the game.
Emery has now spoken out on the possibility, insisting he will have no issue playing both – should he feel it is the right thing to do.
“The possibility to play Aubameyang and Lacazette is okay because we tried that in pre-season and also last year they played together,” said Arsenal’s head coach.
“It is the performance that says to us how we can play. We tried in pre-season and we try n training to play each of the conditions for every player.
“Each match if different, it is a different possibility. Against Manchester City, the last 25, 30 minutes they played together.
“For me it is about finding a good balance for all that we want in attacking and defensive moments.”
The Spaniard admits it will be a much easier situation to manage once the Europa League and Carabao Cup games begin.
He said: “I want to give them the chances in each match and maybe we need a lot of matches for every player.
“In September we will start playing Sunday and Thursday. We are going to play more matches and I think every player will get chances to show us his performance for the team.”
