After a disappointing end to the previous season, Unai Emery is looking to bolster his Arsenal squad and he has his sights on Celtic’s Kieran Tierney.
The Gunners have seen two attempts to secure the left-back go down the drain but they seem to be undeterred as according to reports by Daily Records, Arsenal is moving in for a third bid this week as Celtic seem to be driving a hard bargain.
The second bid for the 22-year-old was worth up to £25million after add-ons. Now Arsenal will have to return with a further improved bid in order to convince Celtic to let their player go.
Tierney was unable to make an appearance for the Scottish Premiership champions in their Champions League first qualifying round and their pre-season friendly match against Rennes due to injury.
The left-back, who is due to return to action in a month, has four years left on his current deal at the Celtic park and the Bhoys are said to be willing to consider a deal for him if Arsenal is able to pay £25m upront.
However, Celtic manager Neil Lennon has been talking about the future of Tierney in recent weeks and has continuously reaffirmed the club’s desire to keep Tierney within the squad, although he has admitted that the player could be allowed to leave if the right offer comes along.
The Celtic player is also reportedly a transfer target for several clubs across Europe with the player having made a name for himself at Celtic Park
