Caglar Söyüncü (abductor), Daniel Amartey (hamstring), Wilfred Ndidi (adductor) and Ricardo Pereira (ACL) remain out but Brendan Rodgers said after Thursday night’s win over Zorya that the Foxes are “thinking that Jamie Vardy (calf) will be available”, with a final assessment to be made in training before the clash with Arsenal.
Fresh from his confidence-boosting performance in the Europa League, Kelechi Iheanacho will almost certainly deputise if Vardy misses out again.
Rodgers named a strong side for the midweek game, with only Ayoze Perez and James Justin missing out from the side that lost to Aston Villa last Sunday.
Christian Fuchs impressed in Justin’s stead and, given that Rodgers has often used a wing-back system in the “tougher” matches (such as the Manchester City win in Gameweek 3 and indeed the Arsenal away fixture last season), the veteran defender could be used in a back three with Jonny Evans and the excellent Wesley Fofana at the Emirates.
James Maddison’s minutes continue to be managed carefully following his return from injury and, given that he was handed over an hour less than three days before Gameweek 6, he may be back among the substitutes in north London.
Ayoze Perez, Marc Albrighton and Cengiz Under will come into contention if Rodgers opts for width down the right, either in a 4-1-4-1 or 3-4-3, while Harvey Barnes looks undroppable based on Thursday night’s showing and will very likely start in whatever system is employed.
