‘Welcome to Chelsea’ fans convinced £31m transfer is done

Footballbible on Facebook and Twitter get up to date football-related news from the English Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga and other leagues around the World. News From Chelsea, Everton, Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool.

Reports claim Chelsea are edging closer to a deal in signing Leandro Paredes.

Paredes dropped a huge hint on social media after the midfielder retweeted a ‘Welcome to Chelsea’ compilation video and the deal is as good as done for some fans.

Chelsea have agreed a deal with Zenit to sign Paredes as they look to replace Cesc Fabregas.

The former Arsenal midfielder was allowed to leave this week, joining Monaco for £10m, and Maurzio Sarri would like to replace him.

But the club are still debating whether to sign him or Nicola Barella this month.

Reports this morning claimed a deal for Paredes was closer than Barella and the midfielder has now dropped a hint on social media.

He retweeted a tweet to his 141,000 followers that included a ‘welcome to Chelsea video’.

Paredes would be the second player to join Chelsea this winter after Christian Pulisic completed a £58m move to Stamford Bridge earlier this month.

Zenit value Paredes at around €35million (£31.m) and it appears Chelsea are on the verge of signing the Argentina international.
