Arsene Wenger reportedly believes Wilfried Zaha is the ideal replacement for Alexis Sanchez.
The Chile international is expected to leave Arsenal by the end of the season, with Manchester City the likely destination.
Arsenal could be tempted to cash in on Sanchez in the January transfer window if they receive a bid they deem desirable.
But the Gunners will also be keen to tie up a deal for a possible replacement with the fight for a top four spot hotting up.
And, according to The Sun, Wenger has already told the club who he wants to be drafted in to take Sanchez’s place.
The Sun claim Arsenal are eyeing a deal to bring Zaha to the Emirates.
The club are said to be willing to offer £35million for the 25-year-old.
Arsenal have also earmarked Yacine Brahimi as a potential signing but Wenger prefers Zaha due to his experience in the Premier League.
It has been all change at Palace in recent weeks with Roy Hodgson taking charge at Selhurst Park but the club remain rooted to the bottom of the English top flight.
Zaha only returned to Palace’s starting line-up last month after picking up a knee injury earlier in the season and scored what proved to be the winning goal against Chelsea upon his return.
Palace will be desperate to keep hold of Zaha as they bid to remain in the Premier League but the tricky winger would likely seek a move away from the south east London club should they remain at the bottom of the log in January.
