Arsenal remain interested in signing Raheem Sterling and could launch a January bid, according to reports.
The Gunners were interested in taking Sterling from Man City in a swap deal that would have seen Sanchez head the other way but City rejected the proposal.
With Sanchez looking increasingly unlikely to sign a new contract at Arsenal, Wenger has begun searching for replacements and Sterling features highly on the boss’ wish list.
According to the Mirror via Daily Cannon, Arsenal could try a new approach to sign Sterling when the transfer window opens in January.
The former Liverpool man is considered a top candidate to replace Sanchez who apparently is in his last season at the Emirates
Realistically speaking, Arsenal have little hope of signing the winger. He is keen on playing regularly and the competition for places at City has regulated him to a bench role.
Despite Sterling’s situation at the Etihad, signing him will not be easy. City’s reluctance to lose him and the inflated value of English players mean we have a lot of work to do to pull this one off.
Lemar is another winger also on Wenger’s radar as we prepare for life after Alexis.
Personally, I think Arsenal would be better off keeping Sanchez until the end of the season when he will leave for free and then take our time to sign a quality replacement rather than rushing to bring in a replacement in January.
