Arsenal are interested in signing Watford winger Richarlison, according to reports.
Richarlison joined Watford from Brazil side Fluminese in the summer and has adapted well to life in the Premier League. He’s scored five goals in 12 league appearances this season and you wouldn’t even notice that he is new to the Premier League when you watch him play.
His superb performances have now caught the attention of Arsene Wenger who is now keen on bringing him to the Emirates.
According to the Daily Star via the Daily Cannon, Arsenal will rival Tottenham Hotspur for the forward’s services.
The report say Arsenal want him to replace Alexis Sanchez, who could leave the club at the end of the season.
Monaco’s Thomas Lemar has long been mooted as Sanchez’s ideal successor but the Daily Star claim Arsenal see Richarlison as a cheaper option.
The Watford man is believed to be available for around £25m, which wouldn’t be too much of a gamble considering his huge potential.
Richarlison plays predominantly on the left side for Watford, the same position Sanchez plays for Arsenal and he has done well for his team. His potential is enormous and more clubs will join Arsenal to monitor him if he continues to improve.
However, I don’t think he is at that level to replace Alexis just yet. The Chilean is one of the best in the league and it wouldn’t improve our squad in anyway if we are replacing Sanchez with the Waford man.
