Arsenal’s rivalry with Chelsea on the pitch is set to extend off the pitch, with the Gunners ready to rival the Blues for the signature of Atletico Madrid winger Yannick Carrasco, according to the Daily Cannon.
Carrasco is said to be out of favour at Atletico Madrid, with his manager Diego Simeone reportedly giving the club a go ahead to sell him.
Daily Cannon claim that Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is keen on pairing the winger with his Belgian teammate Eden Hazard.
Arsenal on their part are likely to lose a number of players in attack soon, with the futures of Theo Walcott, Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil all laced with uncertainty, hence the need for replacement.
Yannick Carrasco joined Atletico from AS Monaco in 2015 and quickly established himself in the team, even scoring in their Champions league final defeat to Real Madrid.
This season however he has fallen down the pecking order, and with Vitolo coming in January he is set to fall further down the pecking order.
At 24, Carrasco has a lot of experience at the top level, and would fit in seamlessly at Arsenal with his skill set.
