Arsenal are going to sign two central defenders over the next two transfer windows according to reports.

They have already started compiling targets, as reports have it that Arsenal are scouting Abdou Diallo with view of a January bid.

Diallo who plays for Mainz in the German Bundesliga moved from AS Monaco in the summer for €5 million and has since developed really fast in such a short time.

The 6’2” defender has made 17 appearances and has scored 3 times already this season.

While so much attention is on the departing attacking duo of Alexis Sanchez and Ozil, the real potential crisis is in Arsenal’s defense.

Laurent Koscielny who has been the most dependable Arsenal Centre back for years is 30 years old now and his Achilles problem is becoming more persistent.

Per Mertesacker is retiring at the end of the season to take over the club’s youth academy.

Mathieu Debuchy wants to leave in January, and Mustafi asked to leave in the summer, there’s no guarantee that the request won’t be made again at the end of the season.

Holding and Chambers are developing well, but the squad will need at least two solid center backs to guarantee a complete defense.

Abdou Diallo looks good, be if he wasn’t good enough for AS Monaco 6 months ago, I don’t think he is the type of defender we should be looking for at this time. It remains to be seen if and who Wenger buys this January.
