Arsene Wenger is ready to sell Mesut Ozil to Barcelona in January, in order to stop him from joining Manchester United at the end of the season.
Ozil reportedly wants to join Jose Mourinho at Man Utd at the end of the season, after enjoying a great relationship with the Portuguese while together at Madrid.
Several reports have also claimed Man Utd are keen on signing the midfielder, while there is doubt over the uncertainty of those reports, it appears that Wenger doesn’t want to take chances.
It’s going to be disastrous to see one of your best player join a rival club and in order to stop Ozil from making such move, Wenger is prepared to sell him in the new year.
According to Spanish publication AS via the Express, Arsenal will sanction a Barcelona move for Ozil, if it becomes clear that he won’t be signing a new deal.
This is because the club wants to stop him from joining Manchester United as a free agent in the summer, when he’ll have the power to solely decide his next cub.
The boss recently revealed that a decision will be taken on the German’s future once and for all in December and should Ozil insist he isn’t going to sign a new deal, Arsenal would have enough time to prepare for a January exit.
Arsenal are also battling to keep Alexis Sanchez who is also looking unlikely to extend his contract with us and I believe Ozil is the more dispensable of the two players if we are to sell one in the new year.
