Arsenal got their 7th straight victory under new manager Unai Emery as his side won 2-0 against Watford on Saturday afternoon.

Some fans were surprised why Greek international Sokratis Papastathopoulos was left out of Emery’s Arsenal squad to face Watford which won 2-0.

Sokratis did not feature in the Carabao Cup win against Brentford on Wednesday night but did take full part in training on Thursday at London Colney.

Despite Arsenal announcement that the 30-year-old was fit to play after recovering from his injury, so the expectation were high that he would be paired with Shkodran Mustafi once again against Watford.

However, Emery handed Rob Holding his first Premier League start of the season that further feared speculation Sokratis was injured and was not included in Emery’s team to face Watford.

A report claim Emery was impressed by Holding’s performance in midweek – and against Everton – so decided not to rush the former Borussia Dortmund man back.
