Arsenal might be set for another Alexis Sanchez to Man City kind of saga with Jack Wilshere as Liverpool are hovering around the midfielder waiting to pounce if he rejects another contract offer from Arsenal, according to the Daily Star.

England international Jack Wilshere has been on the resurgence in the last few months, and has five months left on his current deal and is yet to agree an extension with the club.

The 25-year-old has revealed he wants to stay with the Gunners, but is delaying signing a new deal, which is understandable as Arsene Wenger is offering him a pay cut on his current £90,000 a week salary.

Liverpool are set to take advantage of this development as they are willing to match his salary if they can get him for free in the summer.

Wilshere’s career at Arsenal appeared to be approaching an end with question marks raised over his fitness, be he has seemingly overcome his fitness struggles and has impressed of late.

However, the Gunners are offering him a contract that’s heavily weighing on appearance bonuses, and Wilshere will want to be trusted more before he can pen a new deal.
