Despite the paucity of funds at Arsenal, Unai Emery has assured the club’s fan base that they are working to new signings.
The Gunners defense looks the weakest link, and it appears that Emery is keen on signing reinforcements in every aspects of this area.
Kieran Tieran tickles the fancy of Emery as a left back signing, while William Saliba has been identified as a perfect fit for the central defense. Meanwhile Hector Bellerin is still recuperating from an injury, leaving the North London club with the need to sign a right full back.
And now, according to reports, Dani Alves is open to joining Arsenal in a deal that would see him take a pay-cut.
Alves, who is vastly experienced and has barrels of titles to his name, left Paris Saint Germain as a free agent this summer and he has been heavily linked with a Premier league move.
Inter Milan, Manchester City and Tottenham are reportedly interested in signing the 36-year-old veteran but Arsenal are believed to be favourites because of his relationship with Emery while at PSG.
However, his wage demand could stifle his move to Arsenal. He was on a £230,000-a-week contract at PSG but he has demanded £200,000-a-week deal to join Arsenal, reports the Metro.
He was a key member of the Brazil squad that conquered the Copa America and he has remained coy over his future when asked.
